Yes the format has changed with that earlier ad break slotted in at around 12 minutes past the hour.

At first I thought this may mean an extra sports bulletin each hour but Kay said 'see you in an hour' to Jon so seems unlikely.

Interesting to note the "World News" broadcast will also be extended to 3 hours,3am-6am.

Part of Sky's ongoing strategy to build a big audience in the Middle East,where there is alot of potential revenue.

Bless, Kay seems rather excited about the new look...she keeps mentioning it! Jon Desbourough said it looked a bit like a night club...!

Erm is it me or does the whole news centre look twice the size it was!
Love the new look, very 2005 - have they scrapped the newswall Breaking News animation?

I agree, in some of the sweeping shots, the newswall looks about twice the size.

Indeed, the generic newswall background is reminiscent of the original 2005 background, as it seems to have this 'glare' moving from right to left in a globe like way. Also interesting to note that the transition of images overlaying the background too is a big sun glare pulsation, looks very swish whilst having similarities to the 2005 branding. Lovely stuff!

Nice to see the newswall in use for Afternoon Live, but does the floor need to be so grey?

On the whole though nice to see a revamp basically using what they've already got, rather than ripping it out and starting again.

Was Samantha using a laptop for the headlines? The new desk doesnt conceal the LCD monitors beneath it eh?

Looks to me like the desk is made for one presenter and a few guests. Hideous thing it is.

For once I agree with your grumpy rants. Looks like somebody robbed the Five News desk, and bashed it together with elements from the old pulpit!

gotta say the eye, i disagree with ya mate, i actually quite like the desk.
