LOL at Kay practically running to the island during the TOTH.
Much improved though. Lots of camera angles being used which I like.
Remains to be seen how the sport will be done; usually Kay is there with Jon during the sports news, lots of banter between them, etc. TOTH sports headlines have been axed so perhaps less interaction between them from now on.
Also an ad break at .10 past the hour is very unusual - looks like a serious format change for Afternoon Live.

Obvious because the newswall was being used by Kay.
Looked strange, and they cut Lucy off mid-flow; perhaps a pre-record and she's home already.

Excellent camera pan after the sport - got a brief glimpse at the gallery background which Live at Five and News at Ten will use.

I thought that it actually looked better than the newswall, the screen is big enough to show the map at a decent size alongside the presenter, and is much clearer in terms of colour and sizing displayed on the screen.
As for the new look overall, I am liking it so far, the studio has been used once more to full potential, loving angles being used so far today, and a good widening of the background space so that the newsroom looks busier and so that we can see the gallery, is that the real gallery, or is it a projection of some sort?
I thought that the sunrise area worked very well, had a newsy edge with the desk, but a softer edge with the sofa which worked well in my opinion, especially for more banter between people, it's now more of an Eamonn & friends show. All in all, very good all round.
