Didn't like the first bit where she started speaking before she was in shot - just so they could get the Afternoon Live graphic in.

does anyone have any caps of the new new-look Afternoon Live? I would really appreciate them.

Looks as though the Afternoon live backdrop is now the permanent backdrop on the newswall.

That's been shown a couple of times before.

I guess it's just the template for the latest slugs etc to be inserted. How it gets to air like that I'm not sure.

I don't know about anyone else but I think this "new" backdrop is a big step backward.

Should we starting taking bets now, on how long it will take to have the full virtual newsroom background restored...

I am just generally very confused by Sky News on the whole. It's almost as though a whole series of corporate whims and fantasies are being played out by continually tweaking the formula. The problem is, the formula is never left alone long enough for it to be properly bedded-in. The set or backdrop is constantly shuffled. Key presenter people are sidelined off and then re-appear randomly.............

.......with all due respect, it's a bit like the O'Leary Ryanair formula, where everyone is waiting with baited breath to see what this week's particular strategy will be!!

The viewer tends to like stability. That's what keeps him/her coming back for more. I am now very reluctant to flick onto Sky News.

Gillian covered Sky News at 10 last night. However the EPG showed 'Sky News at 10 with Gillian Joseph'. Normally when a relief presenter is on, the regular presenter's name still appears in the EPG (only exception is some times bank holidays). Was it just a very up to date EPG, or is Gillian moving to the late slot?

EPG shows Gillian Covering tonight, Sunday and Monday. Not sure about why she is doing Monday night but I know Steve Dixon said on Twitter that he is on holiday (Ireland - I think!). But everything displayed as back to normal after that with Anna and Steve.

But it's definitely unusual for them to update the EPG for a relief presenter, even this morning Sunrise was covered by Colin but the EPG still said Mark.

Guess either Anna is away, or doing something else next week. Normally Mark Longhurst covers Monday nights, but with him not being at work this weekend looks like they have given it to Gillian

As Lorna wasn't on this lunchtime, I would hazard a guess that Anna will be covering Afternoon Live tomorrow then Gillian filling in for Anna on News at 10.

I have stopped watching Sky News since they started this "The Recession" grungey presentation, and will continue not watching them untill the recession is over. Baring any HD big event coverage or other coverage where sky news are above the rest.
