Some changes at the "Island"...

Looks a lot better, although it doesnt seem to fit in with the rest of the Island's 'Breakfast Bar'.

Looks like they are experimenting with a new background for AL too.

Not sure I like this - sort of going back to the days of the "virtual newsroom" background

But at least it shows they are definitely working on moving AL away from the desk

On the live desk at 1 you could see Martin testing it out in the background

New opening shot on SkyNews.com looks fantastic.

Is it just me that thinks that this new 'arm' on the island just doesn't look right...

It looks to me like it's just been randomly thrown in?!?

I wonder when will it will actually be used for something? Perhaps the 15 minute NSW updates?

Why do they feel the need to keep the circular glass table, when there is now the new extended area?

I like it, the original set up was strange and looked backwards. My guess is that this will only be used by Kay on AL.

Really enjoyed Afternoon Live,the new bit on the island actually works quite well as it allows a smoother transition between Kay sitting down and standing up.

The newswall backdrop is quite good. I like the feeling of depth it gives,especially when Kay would turn to hand over to Anna.

All in all quite good,although very similar to what it was originally so I don't know why they spent so long at the desk.

Looking back at the original video from after the relaunch, Kay looks lost on the 'island' with nowhere to put her computer down. The new section at the front makes the island complete and a brilliant area to broadcast from. I'll be disappointed if we see the return of the table for either SkyNews.com or NSW!
