more evidence for those who say Sky News is gradually lurching to the right.

He's a good phone-in host but he's got a clear agenda- why is he being hired to helm a political show?

He's pretty good so far. A bit of a shaky start but he's asking some good questions now. A pretty good stand-in.

Stupid comment from him about the wheels coming off Jenson Button's F1 campaign.

He was third. I don't call that the wheels coming off. I call that a good points day.

Yeah, he has extended his lead after all.

I see they are changing the transponder on Astra 19 where the international feed is. Is it possible that they will start airing in 16:9 there too? Confused Idea

Confirmation that Afternoon Live is not staying at the desk;

Thank you for your question.

The answer is: no, Afternoon Live is not now permanently presented from the newswall and, yes, Kay and co will be back at the island/newswall.

Keep watching.

Did Sky have a sports presenter this morning?? I noticed that Eamonn did the full sports update at 8.20...

Charlotte did the Live Desk sport, so I guess whoever was meant to be sport presenter was unavailable at the last minute

Really impressed with Dermot doing the Budget coverage today and Anna doing a good job on the newswall. The way Kay and Michael are walking around that office in the City is rather strange but it's a good watch.

On another note I quite like the studio set up today with the desk rotated in front of the newswall, looks fantastic at the TOTH.

Sky News on Astra 1 are shutting down there FTA service on one of the two transponders they broadcast on to the rest of Europe.

Since yesterday they have been broadcasting constantly a scrolling message across the picture telling people to retune into the other transponder IMMEDIATELY.

Happens on the 1st of May, perhaps they will go Widescreen on the international version on that date also!

I emailed Paul Bromley last night about Sky's excellent Budget coverage and asked him about the changes to Afternoon Live:

As for the format of Afternoon Live, there are plans to use more parts of the studio and newsroom in the presentation of the programme. Keep watching.
