Matt Smith doing a good job on a busy night with news breaking all over the place, considering he is normally only a showbiz correspondent.

Very good indeed. Was rather surprised they put him on, especially solo, but he didn't let down whoever put their faith in him and decided not to replace him

I wonder why they chose to go double headed tonight?

If im not mistaken there have been bigger stories recently and judging by how well Matt Smith handled it by himself why go against what seems to be a policy of only ever being single headed?

I imagine it depends on which director or floor manager or whoever is in charge of stuff like that is on duty at the time.

and shes doing good. One of the younger presenters who is actually good and able to anchor solo.

Not the first time she's done News at 10 though. Did it Christmas Day/Boxing Day and also some Saturday's last year. Been rather busy, doing NSW last night, News at 10 and I presume Sky News Tonight/Sky Midnight News, and then Sunrise headlines this morning

This morning Sunrise was extended to 10, then News Sport and Weather from 10 till 1 with Asha Tanna (nice to see her back again). Right now it's the Live Desk with Samantha. So at least there is a full length lunchtime bulletin.
