So a mass-shooting in Binghampton, where the Taliban claim responsibility, the Nato summit, and President Obama hinting that perhaps America should lead by example and give up it's nuclear weapons - and what's on Sky News - coverage of the tacky funeral of a racist reality reject.

Personal tragedy yes. National tragedy no.

That was weird. Sky News just came back from an ad break with their clock reading 10:53 and the next ad break started at 10:54. There was less than a minute of programming. Is that normal on a Saturday or are advertisers desperate to advertise during the funeral?

EDIT : The weather just got cut short too. Jo Wheeler was mid sentence and they cut to a freeze frame of an overhead view of London followed by the weather sponsor credit.

I know the 20-minute rule has been scrapped, but surely there is some bare minimum of more than a minute for the length of any part of a programme. It used to be 3 or 4 minutes IIRC.

I didn't realise it was Jade's funeral today, I've been more interested in the G20 summit.

Looks like Lorna Dunkley must have drawn the short straw.

Thank god he's been banned!

Jade Goody's funeral is getting far too much coverage. Especially when there's the likes of North Korea and Afghanistan which have more significance at the moment.

Comsidering she is relatively inexperienced at presenting, Jayne Secker coping very well with a busy afternoon for breaking news, press conferences and the odd technical problem

I watched about 5 minutes of it and it was absolutely embarrassing. Don't get me wrong, I never actually minded Jade, I never hated her, I never particularly liked her and I didn't condemn the way she handled her cancer. But that was way too much coverage.
