I thought this in 2005, because the 2001 one still looks way better than their current one. The one they use now is too corporate looking for Sky News.
As for speculation, I don't know but there has been alot of talk on here about a new Sky News logo coming soon, someone also said Sky is getting a new look in general? Not sure though.

Why do they need a new logo, this one is new and good. Some channels look stale cause they don't update their look often but Sky is doing it too often.

Have you not watched Sky News or read this forum in the last month? We have had the on air refresh, a new studio and tweaked graphics. That's all we are getting for a long while!

Just a thought, why don't you shove your logos where the sun don't shine. I have never met a load of people so up themselves, and if someone doesn't agree, react so badly. Its pathetic. It really is.
I suggest alot of you got back to nursery where you belong, or get a job.
Also, SKY is the best, always will be, and BBC and ITV and f**k themselves and so can you. LOL.

As much as onsky was a tw*t, he did raise a good point - it was rumoured earlier in this thread that there would be a new Sky News logo and graphics coming later this year.
It pretty much matches up with what Sky are up to at the moment too - rebrand of Sky 1, 2 and 3, as well as Sky Travel to use the lowercase Sky logo which Sky Real Lives and Sky Arts already use.
The only channels left in the portfolio to follow are Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Sky Box Office and Sky News.
Looks like it's going to happen, just a matter of when.

Calm down dears; it's just a news channel!
FYI
There are no plans for a new logo
There are no plans for a relaunch
There are no plans for a new set
There are no plans for new music
The rumors are just that. The next time there will be any major changes, will be if and when Sky News goes HD (NB. that's just to feed the next set of rumors

Is Sky not already broadcasting in HD?
If not, I'm surprised with Sky being a major pioneer in new things and also how they're currently aggressively pushing their HD service.
Apologies if this is a stupid question - I'm a new member having read this for months but I can't be bothered going back 140 odd pages to find out

BSkyB have HD Channels (Sky 1 HD, Sky movies HD 1, etc), but Sky News is not HD.
Several half hour films have been made in HD for News and have been viewed to full advantage on the Anytime service and the inauguration of Obama was the first live broadcast in HD for Sky News.
In addition, much new material is filmed in HD, but to date that is all.
