Does anyone know how the new logo/graphics, etc will affect Sky News Australia?

Well they changed things in the past and hasn't affected us, they don't match each other very often with looks or sound. Something about not completely connected (bit like SkyNews & Fox), But in this case they have the name

Still sound problems from Millbank today, for a moment on the Brown interview Boltons mic was out of sync and we heard the raw sound from the room itself over the top.

Any TV screen in a public area showing Sky News 24/7 is in danger of having screen burn from their consent advert for 'WATCH ELECTION NIGHT IN HIGH DEFINITION ON SKY NEWS HD CHANNEL 517'.

Advertising things is what they breaks are for every 15 minutes or so, get it off my screen while your telling me the news.

Totally agree. This whole ChannelX HD annoys me. If it's a new channel with different output, then call it HD, but if it's the same channel, it doesn't need a HD label (and in fact it should really replace the SD channel, on the same EPG number). It looks like we've adopted the American standard here. You didn't see Sky News calling itself Sky News Digital when Digital started.....

I think on the website they should stick to the normal Sky news logo, and they may do after the launch of HD. Fair enough put underneath 501 and in HD on 517 but the channel is Sky News, Sky News HD should be seen as just an HD feed/service not as another set of operations/business.

The trend of referring to channels with "HD" at the end is getting a bit over the top.

Sky in particular seems to be far too obsessed with HD references, with all trailers now having HD at the end of the channel name on-screen and on the voiceover, and the continuity announcers on some channels only refer to the channel as Sky X HD, even on the SD channels. Even on some of Sky's channel websites, the channels are only referred to as Sky X HD.

Saw some of the live on the move stuff (via 3G?) today from the Clegg bus, wonder how bad that will look in HD?

Anyone know what Sky have been using to do the live streaming from the buses and trains?

Interesting to see people like Charlotte, Samantha and Gillian reporting

From that list Im guessing Andrew Wilson is presenting Live at Five Thursday - he is notably absent from the reporting list. Also no Sarah Hughes out reporting, so I'm guessing they are holding her back for presenting on Thursday too

The list isn't complete. I think Andrew Wilson is in Sunderland - traditionally the first declaration.

I'd assume Mark Longhurst is doing some presenting tomorrow, plus maybe those like Gillian who are going to be based in London constituencies.

I think it's USTREAM over 3G

I think Colin said at the end of the Live Desk today that Mark Longhurst would be presenting it tomorrow.

Why is it 'News, Sport, Weather' all day? I understand that theres a lot of big name presenters out on the roads or in the Sky News Centre rehearsing, but I'm still sure somebody like Charlotte could handle Sky News Today.

As has been mentioned elsewhere on the forums, reporting restrictions mean they've got to avoid anything political until the polls close. Plus they're probably concentrating all their resources on tonight.

Picture 14, the Sky News HD Election graphics... very simple and clean, quite nice.
