Good piece by Adam in today's IOS about the debates.

Dermot Murnaghan presenting Sunday Live from Belfast. His profile at Sky News has certainly been raised during the election campaign.

I think he had been underused before, he should've had a bigger role in the post-debate coverage 2 weeks ago, alongside Kay Burley or even instead of her. That would really have annoyed the BBC - not only were they showing Sky News branding everywhere, but they also saw Dermot doing loads of presenting on the other side.
He's doing a great job in Belfast though.

Superb programme with Dermot from Belfast. Pity he was cut off at the end as they cut into the ads at :55 past, looks so poor when they cut off mid sentence to ads.

Which would explain why Dermot is anchoring Sunday Live, seen as he isn't playing a role in election night itself.

My GF's a stringer for Sky on the Election, and so yesterday and today has to phone in. The timings basically are that they're considering 12am on the night as 12pm today - so her result, expected at 3am on the night, is 3pm today/yesterday.

Over the three rehearsals they've used different numbers - the first one they gave full results, and on the second/third they just give the winner and allow you to make up realistic numbers for each candidate, and go through a few different "scripts" for if the stringer has the full results or not.

Out of interest is there more for the stringers to do, or is it just a case of reporting the result?

Why is Steve Dixon now getting called Stephen Dixon? Why the change?

They can send in tips, maybe that a candidate is looking confident etc (through text), but on the phone it's just the result.

In preparation for a change to Stephanie Dixon perhaps. Wink
