I have no idea about that, but you could imagine if it was Burley on air she'd be saying 'Let's just listen in and see if Gordon has anything interesting to say'.

Currently Sky News showing PM Gordon Brown visting a factory and Sky News trying their most to catch another "unguarded" comment. Why is Sky News so Pro Tory. Why can't all channels report unbiasedly

I haven't got a clue what you're watching. Alternatively you don't understand how news works. Give it a rest please.

On the subject of actual Sky News coverage, was Eamonn not in Birmingham for Sunrise? Thought he was supposed to be presenting it from every debate city.

Emily Maitlis is the only one presenting from Birmingham so far..

Sky presented all day from Bristol last Thursday and from Manchester 2 weeks ago. Also, the last 2 Wednesdays editions of live at five were live from debate cities. Very little coverage so far of the third and final debate.

Probably a combination of the excitement surrounding Brown's gaffe yesterday and the fact that the BBC officially embargoed the location of the debate to 10pm last night, compared to 5pm from the ITV and Sky debates.

I believe Kay and Dermot will definitely be there later. Not sure about JT.

Even with an embargo the rest of the media would have known (that's the point of embargos), and it was hardly a secret It was at the University of Birmingham - I read that at the weekend.

Really impressive brochure, and an interesting insight into the graphics. They feel quite MSNBC like to me. It also mentions the weather being in HD, wonder how that will look?

Pictures from a Sky News HD post on the Editors Blog - I like the new design, especially the sidebar (as it's not too big, but still can feature lots of content).

Interestingly in the brochure it looks as though the SD graphics the straps will be the same size as they are now,not just two lines like on the HD channel.

Hmm, that does look pretty good.

It would be nice if you could select one of the video screens on the right of the picture and watch it full screen, even if that was in sub-SD quality like on Sky News Active.

Have we been told officially that Sky News HD is going to be subscription only yet?

Be interesting to see whether they reframe studio and OB shots for panels that are only there on the HD feed. Won't it look very unbalanced in SD if they do?

I think the Sky News may just crop the picture for SD feed. The unbalanced picture may be reason why Sky is not simiucasting the channel on 501 for HD viewers

I doubt that any cropping will be done very much. And I don't understand your last sentence.

Yes, it was obviously known. I knew in February or March. No-one was allowed to announce the venue or broadcast officially from the University of Birmingham until 10pm yesterday though.
