Niall Patterson getting a lot of unjustified abuse on Twitter. Defending himself well.

With the bulk of the abuse coming from Emma Kennedy @emmak67

Sunrise back in main set then?

Did anyone answer this one before the posts got deleted?

Just to counteract suggestions of 'bias' the guests on the Boulton Factor and Adam himself being very reasonable, and balanced, discussion about the Brown gaffe story. And as someone mentioned on here earlier before the posts disappeared Kay was much better this afternoon, more relaxed and professional just sitting at the desk.

Sunrise was back in main set this morning. No noticeable changes.

To be fair even Adam himself seemed taken aback by Randall's attitude earlier.

The Vision of A New Era of News by John Ryley

CNN's International Correspondents programme, on air now, includes a live interview with Sky's Head of Foreign News, who happens to be sitting on the balcony at Sky News Centre.

Obviously only a small portion of the set is visible, but it certainly seems to confirm there is no visible change to the red/blue colour scheme.

According to Sky Director of News John Ryley
Quote:
Starting on Monday 10th May, Premium Panels will use the widescreen format of HD to provide a rich context to the key stories of the day.

The panels will carry live video feeds from developing stories, graphics that enhance our coverage and real-time text analysis from our specialists.

They will help make Sky News HD a premium service and a compelling television experience

Nice shots from Sky. It looks like they will use the same style as Fox Business with a HD Panel to provide extra information.

It does feel a little cluttered with the box, the logo, the ticker and the strap all on screen. Also seems a bit weird having the font on the strap the same size as the font on the ticker. Still I look forward to seeing how it works on air. Presumably the 'premium panels' will only be visible on the HD channel?

Seems a rather pointless and intrusive addition really.

I don't suppose you would be able to read the small typeface on a fuzzy SD picture. This is one of the main benefits of a news channel going HD.
