JT doing a sterling job anchoring the special from Calais, great to have him fronting a big story again outside of the 5-7 slot. He was talking to Ian Woods a few minutes ago who was due to fly back to Australia with his heavily pregnant wife last Saturday.

Francis now doing a forecast from his desk at Sky centre.

There was a strange graphics problem with the weather just before 20:00.

There was an empty white and red box (like the current Sky News logo) at the top right of the screen but the words "Tonight" appeared at the top left of the screen, slightly obscured by the Sky News logo.

Ian could be stuck again. Ash cloud heading towards the UK which may disrupt flights again tomorrow.

Yes looks like there might be a short window for some flights tomorrow but only temporarily due to this new ash cloud.

The situation is once again deteriorating.

Does the section to the bottom right of the image look to be a new part of the set?

So looks like this confirms no set changes, but definate graphics change. The breaking news background being used on the wall looks like it confirms that the image on one of the gallery monitors in the election e-magazine is infact a real graphic.

Nice picture of the studios
Great looking Breaking News strip on the screen
Will the channel launch full-time on Thursday or will it be launched only for the debate

Seems Sky has lost the edge with this delay in the HD launch. We've already had the the first debate in HD on ITV.

With BBC HD also showing the Sky debate in HD and then next week doing their own in HD, I notice now that their main 'Election 2010' form 9.55pm on election night is also simulcast on BBC HD.

The Second Debate, the hour before, and the 1 half hours after on Sky News will also be on Sky News HD.

And on the days after the debate, there will be Election Special programming on Sky News HD.

Then Election Night itself is on Sky News HD. With a possible full time launch on May 7th

The Sky programme guide http://data.skyprogrammeinformation.co.uk/wtv.php?week=346&chan=NEWB has (hd) by several election programmes, but apart from this Thursday evening, the Sky EPG on 517, just says 'Sky News HD Preview' 24/7 after Thursday at 11pm.
