Burley excluded from today's coverage?

She will present the build up and reaction to the Sky debate next week. Somewhat disappointing as I thought Dermot did a great job tonight, he dosen't go looking for an argument but still asks the hard questions.

I agree. Burley adopts the same line of questioning with every person. I've noticed this when she's walking around town centres. She latches onto one particular theme a day and repeats it over and over again. This seems to pass off as good journalism.

Exactly - Burley, good journalism, there's a laugh... (Or a contradiction in terms.)

Looking forward on the Sky TV Guide it appears that Sky News HD will now start from 7PM with Kay Burley, not for the whole day as thought.

Hasn't the countdown on 517 always been to 7pm on the 22nd?

Don't know about that but originally the Sky Programme Info site said that the coverage would be in HD from 9am.

Going to be fascinating to see how many of the 9 Million viewers who watched last night will watch the second debate on Sky. Really hard to say I think, obviously it won't be anywhere near as high.

I believe the Sky one will be simulcasted on terrestrial telly, so those ratings will be taken into account. Also the viewing figures so far, did they take into account, online viewers, BBC News repeat viewers, ITV 1 HD etc?

I think they may have taken ITV HD into account but noting else. It also looks as though the only showing of the Sky debate on terrestrial tv will be a repeat on BBC Two after Newsnight, although it will be shown live on the BBC News Channel and I think also on BBC HD.

Standard overnight ratings will presumably include ITV1 HD figures as it is a simulcast channel and presumably assumed to be, like C4, an alternative version of ITV1 rather than a different channel ?(assuming it is being monitored by BARB) - but they wouldn't include showings on other channels, or outlets AIUI, nor timeshifted viewing on PVRs, VCRs, DVDRs etc.

The consolidated ratings that come out a bit later will include timeshifted viewing within 7 days I believe, and would also include repeat viewings on the ITV1 within 7 days (but not showings on other ITV channels)

AIUI BARB don't monitor iplayer/4oD/itvplayer/demandfive etc. for the standard overnight or consolidated ratings.

Sounds like I’m in the minority but I’ve really enjoyed her being out and about talking to voters during this campaign. I think she does it very well.

Looking ahead on the Sky Programme Information it appears that from next Friday, The Boulton Factor and Boulton & Randall Unleashed will be broadcasting each day in HD.

Appears for the time being that the rest of the programmes will remain in SD.

Good to see the CBS News on Sky News for once (don't know about recently but last year anytime I wanted to watch it for some reason they deemed to drop it!). Wanted to see how they were covering the Volcanic Ash story and was quite surprised they led with it. Don't know if they covered the debate at all - it wasn't in the headlines and I didn't stick with it beyond the ash story.

Also when did it get it's new look?

Correct me if I'm wrong but CBS News is on every night at 12.30am is it not? I really enjoy watching it actually, hope we get the HD version when we have Sky News HD.

It'll be on terrestrial television anyway because Sky News is on digital terrestrial but it won't be live on any of the 5 analogue channels. It'll be simulcast on the BBC News channel then a repeat on BBC Two at half eleven.
