On a separate note the Gherkin looks nice in the light of London's sunset, although I only just realised how dark the right side of the Gherkin studio is, obviously because of the window on the left but I thought they would light it appropriately.

Turns out it has - we just got a nice establishing shot of the Manchester skyline, with "This is Live at Five with Dermot Murnaghan and Jeremy Thompson in Manchester"

A special V/O for Randall and Boulton tonight as well to mention Adam in Manchester, shame the title sequence hadn't been updated though.

As much as I rate Bolton as a journalist, cant help but find his constant interruptions rather annoying right now. He doesn't let the interviewee get a word in!For example during the press interview, and right now with his interview with Boris on Randall and Bolton Unleashed.

Anna B on for this programme.

She's going to miss the debate! Maybe she has it on split screen. Razz

Sky's special is just more of the same (quite repetitive) coverage. At least the BBC has Joanna Gosling anchoring on location.

Sky have really missed a trick by not doing the build-up to the Debate. BBC have had some superb guests.

Yeah I would have preferred a final countdown to the debate and then the special from half 8.

Looking forward on the Sky TV Guide it appears that Sky News HD will now start from 7PM with Kay Burley, not for the whole day as thought.

Burley excluded from today's coverage?

Burley excluded from today's coverage?

She will present the build up and reaction to the Sky debate next week. Somewhat disappointing as I thought Dermot did a great job tonight, he dosen't go looking for an argument but still asks the hard questions.

I agree. Burley adopts the same line of questioning with every person. I've noticed this when she's walking around town centres. She latches onto one particular theme a day and repeats it over and over again. This seems to pass off as good journalism.
