Hm, I don't see why they do this when they're on location, but they always seem to stop using the CA


I think it depends on the editor more than anything, the last few days when Kay has been on the road on Afternoon Live, the Bruce Hammal TOTH announcements have been used, although not mentioning the location as presumably he hasn't recorded "in Dudley" or "in Battersea", but you'd think "in Manchester" had been recorded.

Just a coincidence that this clashes with the Leaders Debate? It won't be much of a special as they have already asked/told viewers to switch over from ITV1 at certain times during the debate this evening, so they will need to interrupt their cloud special for whatever they had planned for these switch over times anyway.

I guess JT will present it from Manchester with Dermot reacting to the debate from 10. The switch over times for instant polling data is still going ahead.

Turns out it has - we just got a nice establishing shot of the Manchester skyline, with "This is Live at Five with Dermot Murnaghan and Jeremy Thompson in Manchester"

I did see Colin present the Live Desk at One, and JT said we were with Sky News Today at midday.

Indeed, wonder which rooftop it was from as it wasn't the Hilton, thats clearly seen in the shot!

Another little thing, they keep using the regular LIVE DOG, and seemed to have noticed on Sunrise as after a few minutes on air, they changed to the Election LIVE DOG, literally without gaps and so on.

I think they should only use the election LIVE DOG on the election stories. Getting a bit too much. And since for the last week all sky's coverage has been election, well mostly especially the lives. That's why we havent seen the generic LIVE DOG.
