Sky just did a live 2-way with a correspondent live on the Lib Dem battle bus, using some sort of video over IP over 3G set-up. It worked fairly well, save for the delay between Kay cueing the correspondent (from an OB) and him actually starting talking. Shame that he then started with 'hi Kay, how are you' - which was then followed by a 7 second gap before he realised that her answer may take a while...

They did a similar thing with Joey Jones sitting on a train towards the start of the election coverage a week or so ago. The pictures and sound broke up for a second or two and they gave up on it. Kay Burley apologised for the loss of pictures and moved on to something else despite the fact that by the time she started apologising, the pictures had come back and we could hear Joey Jones speaking. Glad to hear they gave it a second try.

Sky seemed to have hacked into itv's feed from Manchester where the pm was being interviewed by itv's Lucy manning.

Eamon mentioned on Sunrise that they were supposed to be talking about the debate, but had be blown over instead by the ash. Quite a few don't know about it, as they seemed to have not bothered watching Sky, ITV or BBC as they thought they'd just talk about the debate.
DEBATE DAY - Scuppered by Volcanic Ash, though it has meant Jeremy Thompson is anchoring as the drama unfolds!
