Apparently the test feed is now visible on a dreambox

Also, HD countdown to debate now visible on 517

Those images must be mock ups surely!? If they are the real HD grahics, they are awful! Confused Wink

I took these two images, they are real from the test which was receivable on a Dreambox DM800HD. I have a video as well which I can send to anyone who is interested. Taking pictures of the rapidly moving ticker is what has distorted the screenshots, someone else may be able to do a better job from the video.

Why not bung the video on You Tube?

I will have a go at converting it tomorrow. Its currently a 2GB .TS file and is about 30 minutes in length.

Obviously this being the Daily Mail I would take the article with a pinch of salt, but if it was to happen I wonder would they bring Emma Crosby back? She deserved to be treated better than just doing the business news before she left.

While it would be very nice, other than replacing Eammon directly, would she want to come back? She has had over a year now of terrestial weekday tv and the money that goes with that. So she would be expensive for Sky and I presume only interested in a high profile slot. And unless Dermot, Kay or JT leave the only other high profile slot is Sunrise.

Conceivably they could move Dermot to Sunrise, given his past Breakfast experience. Chris Roberts or Mark Longhurst could replace him on Today, with the other taking the weekend Sunrise job (Fri - Sun).

What about a move for Anna Botting? Evenings aren't the highest profile of slots.
Also could Lorna Dunkley be in for a return to Sunrise.

Anyone would think Sky was the only one showing the debate in HD. ITV's is listed as being in HD too, and I would imagine if ITV and Sky's are, the BBC's would be too.

Perhaps she could present alongside JT on Live at Five, with a view to her being his replacement when he retires. There's a number of slightly less well-known anchors who could takeover the News at Ten slot - Jayne Secker or Mark Longhurst for example. It's been mentioned that Martin Stanford is underused at Sky; it'd be good if he went back to Sky News Today (possibly with Anna Jones), but as I've said before I guess there's a reason why he only does half an hour per day.

That said, I imagine Sky will do the obvious thing and change nothing though, so it's all slightly pointless speculation.

Just seen this video on YouTube

Makes me miss the old studio setup. It's a shame how much space and features they had at Sky Centre and they've all been put to waste. Eventhough I do love the multi-purpose Sunrise set, now I miss the walks they used to do on the stairs, the mezzanine and been able to bounce each other off around the studio, as this video shows very well. Also this is another argument for having double headed presentation, this video shows a nice time at Sky where we got to know more about our presenters, no offense to the guys who work at sky now but apart from the veterans ie. JT KB AB etc. i'm sure they just grab random people and push them in front of the autocue, i'm a bit fed up of seeing random people on Sky.

I wonder who would get the Sunrise gig if Eamonn was to leave? Early morning starts aside, it certainly must be one of the most attractive slots to present at the moment in terms of ratings, format etc.

They are surely not going to get rid of Emma?

But wasn't the reason Dermot moved to Sky, money aside, to not have to get up so early.

Yes, but ITV and the BBC don't need the extra hype to help them flog HD boxes and subscriptions.
