So the HD channel is coming two weeks today for an hour and a half and then going off air again until Election Night?

Martin responded

yeah i think thats right - there might be some "holding material" trailers, feature progs etc...

Also, programme information site has been updated for the Sky News debate day:
9-1 Debate Day (HD) with Dermot Murnaghan & Anna Jones
1-5 Debate Day (HD) with Jeremy Thompson & Anna Botting
7-8 Debate Day (HD) with Kay Burley
8-9:30 The Debate (HD) with Adam
9:30-11 Debate Day (HD) with Kay Burley

It would look as though the whole day of the debate will be broadcast in HD and not just the debate itself.

Schedule shows NSW on Thursday 6th from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. Please tell me this is a mistake!!! I know resources will be tight with election night to cover, but 7 hours of 15 minute bulletins on weekday daytime - things can't be that tight surely?

Also Dermot doing Sunday Live on Sunday 2nd and an apparently normal schedule on Bank Holiday Monday

I imagine there won't be that much to cover in the daytime on that day and they will be concentrating most of their resources in the evening and overnight as the data begins to come in.

As for the May Day bank holiday, they always take ages to update those but I'd expect the usual mix of an extended Sunrise, NSW and only a single Live Desk.

Sky's TV advertising will run across channels including ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel Five – the first time that Sky News ads have run on television outside the broadcaster's own channels.

The first stage of the campaign will break on 10 April using TV and outdoor advertising promote the upcoming Sky News Debate, which will air on 22 April from 8pm to 9.30pm with Adam Boulton chairing, focusing on foreign policy.

Do we think this could be a glimpse of the on-screen graphics? I'm sure a previous poster said that they were going to be an evolved style of the present ones. If so, at least it looks as though they line up this time!

I can't see it being much different to say an August weekday. Stock market open, courts function, rest of the world carries on as normal. Politics isn't everything

Though if that is the schedule I hope something big (though not bad) happens and they have to scrap the 15 minute bulletins and go into rolling breaking news coverage Wink

Yep! This IS a glimpse of the on-screen graphics from what I saw over the shoulder of someone in the graphics department a few weeks ago. One line of text underneath the header, instead of the 2 lines used now.

I've only spotted this font once on the presentation, and that's with Martin Stanford's Ready Recknor this morning. Old style Sky News logo, with the new font underneath.

I wonder whether Randall & Boulton Unleashed was christened before or after Alistair Darling's "the forces of hell were unleashed" quote to Jeff Randall from a few weeks ago. That's the first thing that sprung to mind when I heard it.

I think Kay Burley let slip that it's based on 'Randall and Hopkirk Deceased', well I assumed that because she said, 'Randall and Boulton Unleashed, rather than deceased'!
