I think this seems to suggest that they have hit delays with the studio. This OB from Westminster doesn't add to the coverage now, there's not much happening in Westminster from now on. The leaders aren't there, and from this afternoon onwards, the MPs will be drifting from Westminster too. By Monday, there aren't any MPs, so surely Afternoon Live will have to come from the studio...or, most probably actually, a 'swing seat' in the back and beyond.
Also just realised, the second camera which they are using for close ups in interviews seems to be giving a strange output. a more film like look, lower frame rate?
These days it is possible to switch most modern SD and HD camcorders from 50i interlaced to 25p progressive. The latter gives a "film look" - and is usually higher quality than "film effecting" in post. It could be that one of the cameras they are using has been set-up in 25p mode rather than 50i - though without seeing the issue I can't really say for sure.
I don't think so...going HD is probably the biggest thing they've ever undertaken. It's taking them time to get things sorted, and it probably doesn't help that the Sky Centre still has to be fully operational whilst they attempt to get things right.
They have put up some info on the Programme Information site about how they will handle the ITV debate next week, JT and Dermot Murnaghan play a pretty prominent role.
'Debate Day With Jeremy Thompson' will air from 10am to 5pm.
And at 8PM after Randall and Boulton, Dermot will preview the ITV debate live from the venue. After the debate (or NSW on Sky) Dermot will be back at ten with analysis.
EDIT: Ahh, see someone did get there before me. Suppose the one good thing is that Kay Burley will be very, very far away from the studio on election night.
