The website has gone into election mode, but no logo changes yet. We could be looking at a midday launch once the announcement is officially made after the PM visits Buckingham Palace, like in 2001.

There is definitely changes to come, look closely at the Sky News DOG logo, it has a dark outline, as if it may be covering something up...

The Constituency pages on the website are very impressive, lots of detail and links, A Conservative MP tweeted her constituencies pages,

So... Martin Stanford was at the newswall, and the graphics have an Election theme to them already. Lots of flashy Election graphics too, and a noticeable change of font for quotes etc. The newswall looking quite tidy too.

And since I've switched on just before 7am the pace of the channel is SO fast. Looking very slick already.

Sadly Martin Stanford seems to have discounted a HD Channel launch today. And this presumably means the new logo wont be coming into use today either...

Bit disappointing that they don't have HD sorted out in time for today if that's the case, it's hardly ideal to do the launch halfway through the campaign but I guess they will sort something out.

Haven't seen the newswall yet - what is the refurbishment? Have they upped the res ready for HD?

Live presentation from Westminster all day today, so I presume Kay, Jeremy et al will be there. Andrew Wilson and Colin Brazier also on reporting duty later I believe.
