Sunrise is my favourite programme on Sky news too. I think Afternoon Live needs more of a focus, it seems to be lacking in decent stories and the constantly-changing hosts, with Kay Burley hardly hosting it anymore, doesn't help either.

"Hardly hosting it" seems a bit much. She's had most of the couple of weeks off, but once the election campaign has started, I imagine she'll be on every day so you can look forward to that.

As for last week she presented on Tuesday as normal, all day wednesday for the budget and then did Thursday as well, so really she's only just had a week off!

Don't agree about the constantly changing hosts part but I think you are right in what you say about the format, its messy and lacks cohesion. There is a sense they spend more time on sport than on proper news, I think it was better in the Lunchtime Live days. Anyway im sure come this time next week I will be in awe of the new look/feel!
What is the latest possible date that Brown can hold the election on does anyone know?
I'd like to know what happens if he just doesn't call one.
The Parliament simply expires (after sitting for 5 years) and an election is called automatically.
Parliaments have been extended in the past, but these have been in exceptional circumstances, most recently during the Second World War. I don't think any such circumstances exist at present.
Wrong Stuart I'm afraid, the country simply doesn't have an active Government. The Crown can then call an election three years after Parliament expires without reference to the former Government.
Of course it wouldn't happen, I'd expect some form of Military Action in the event of such procrastination.
Going off topic here but another question on the election - with much talk of a hung parliament, what happens if Labour and the Tories win exactly the same number of seats? Is it a race to see who can get to the Palace first to get permission to form a government!
