There have been no rumours of changes to the studio, all we know is that there are final rehearsals, before the Election is called (and presumably Election graphics) and that Sky News HD will probably launch when the rehearsals are complete, the election is called, and they move back into the main news centre.

I know its pedantic, but better to keep expectations low.

They have only just changed the studio really, we had the last incarnation for a good four years! I wouldn't expect massive changes to the set and newsroom. Martin is right in saying its just for further upgrades and final adjustments for HD. However I'm still in the dark regarding its launch, I assume next week when the election is called but who knows.

It would be good to have it launched in time for the debates, election night is another good opportunity, as is after the election night show.

I would hope that the newswall is going HD. It will be a huge pixelated distraction otherwise. I listed the resolutions before, and it does need sorting. I fear they will go ahead and launch tuesday, and not care.

But hopefully a kind soul at Sky News HQ will tweet out the news "New Newswall has been installed, now with 250% more Definition, and 90% less wurring noise!" Mr Stanford, we are all looking to you sir!

Hasn't it already been mentioned (rumored I should say) that the newswall is not being replaced.

Jeff Randall's background looks a lot better now its lighter in the evenings too! Very Happy

I don't know about resolutions etc. but I was told the newswall was fine and would not be changed.

The 'Jeff Randall Live' logo I just saw at the end of his show looked like it was based on the new Sky News logo (with the darker red colour).

Just thought I'd say.

The logo on the Sky News Election Debate graphic is the logo I've seen on a printed sheet of the 'logo family' (I.e., all the Sky logos together) when I visited a few weeks ago.

For the poster that said above about the graphics being flashy and primary colours: From what I saw, expect it to be toned down a little. Especially for the HD feed, which looks really tidy, from what I gleamed!

It's weird seeing the weather now only in the small screen, like they show during Sky World News.
The newswheel is obviously Green-Screened, like Live at Five was.

I didn't notice it on Sunrise this morning though...?

Makes sense, one of the words I've seen used to describe the new HD graphics is "classy", which certainly doesn't describe the current set! Smile

That's because Sunrise came from the multi-purpose area as normal, all other output today except Jeff Randall Live came from studio B

I have to say the weather looks a lot better from the CSO. So much more rich and understandable!

I, like some others, have a feeling that they won't change the newswall and it will look a MESS in HD. I cannot believe they said theres no problems with it, there clearly is! Even on the Afternoon Live TOTH you can see streaks all the way through it.

Looking ahead to election night, Anna Botting announced on air tonight that she'll be based with Clegg.
