During the revamp, I think they were in studio B for a month or more. This time its pretty much just a week, with the new look logo, and election graphics going live and HD on April 6th...

.. I think anywho!

why would they go live on a tuesday, why not the monday?

Because it's a Bank Holiday and probably not the ideal day to relaunch.

Especially with all that NSW in the schedule. Still at least Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday's schedules appear to be unchanged with Saturday Live and Sunday Live both running as normal.

Monday is Easter Monday, a slow news day. Tuesday is expected to be the day the Great Clunking Cyst goes to the Palace to fire the starting gun on the election campaign, a big news event to launch HD with.

I wonder whether they would launch HD and the new logo/graphics etc. at 6am on Tuesday, or will they hold back until Gordon formally tells the press in front of the cameras that he has sought the Queen's permission for a dissolution of Parliament, and that she has agreed, like they did in 2001 when they went to a break at 3:56pm with the old look, and came back at 4:00pm with the special election look (that lasted until September when they had a bigger revamp with new everything).

April 6th is when Gordon Brown is expected to call the election. Hence the date for a possible relaunch.

oh... I'm all excited now. What does everyone expect graphics wise from the relaunch.
I'm expecting a glossy black with the newswall animation as a black version of the budget background.

I expect them to be just as ugly as they are at the moment. Big 3D red glossy boxes flying everywhere, and bright red and blue primary colours.

Yes this being Sky News I doubt it will be in any way subtle. Still, looking forward to seeing it all.

The HD version of the current graphics were quite subtle on the Antarctica special they did which was shown on Sky Anytime HD. 4:3 safe areas were ditched, and the graphics became slightly smaller and quite tidy.

There will be brand new graphics this time around though I understand, and a separate feed to for the SD version which will still be 4:3 safe.

Yes, I noticed that too. Very fake background.

It's a shame the newsroom webcam isn't in action anymore, could have had a little peak in on what's happening. All though they may have switched it off anyway if it was still used.

I'm already bored of watching that guy put on his headphones on the Daytime/Live desk/Afternoon Live background loop Laughing
