What is the reason behind using studio B though? Presumably the only things they can rehearse are graphics etc. or will we see some cosmetic changes to the set? I'd like to see them sort out the island, its so messy atm.

No idea, although it was interesting that while Sunrise came from it's usual desk & sofa area this morning, the weather was done via CSO rather than at the newswall, there were no shots of any other part of the newsroom except for the Sunrise set.

Im not the sort of guy who knows all the techy stuff - but does anyone think that it could just be simple things like changing over the cameras etc. ??

If we assume the studio may be getting little tweaks, and that the new graphics coming in may be designed for the election, with poll results on the screen, and other little graphical tricks popping up. This will need to be tested with incoming data, and those full screen and possible newswall graphic sequences, used to show data, swing, seat graphics etc.

So if we have a week to wait for the announcement, that doesn't give a lot of time. Especially if it is decided that some things need changing or redesigning.

I could be talking out of my derrière, but as they will be broadcasting in HD, the quality of the newswall may have to be upped. In real life it's surprisingly grainy compared to how it's seen on telly in SD.

The current newswall has a resolution of 2448 x 432 px

In order to stand up to HD scrutiny, it should have a resolution of at least
6120 x 1080 px this is 2.5 times the reolution

Apologies if already mentioned, but is this sight of the new Sky News logo?

The Sky News Debate Facebook page was the first sighting, but that is the new logo...

Here is the largest version available in use so far...

Will the SD version of the channel look worse when it goes HD? Hope that makes sense.

I hope they replace the TOTH intro sequence - by far my least favourite aspect of the current graphics package.

Must say the new logo/ DOG has grown on me.

Oh it is soooo good to see Anna Jones being used as a News Anchor and not just a business presenter.

She's one of Sky's best presenters for sure. I do feel however she made a really stupid move in switching from the Beeb to Sky.

The temporary set up is quite crummy this time around. I remember the de-camp to Studio B a while back during the last studio revamp was lit superbly and worked pretty well on air. This time the prints of the background are poor and there is a lot of fuzz on some shots.

Are we to expect HD to launch next week with the final few tech updates taking place in the newsroom now?

During the revamp, I think they were in studio B for a month or more. This time its pretty much just a week, with the new look logo, and election graphics going live and HD on April 6th...

.. I think anywho!

The Breaking News and Live graphics have lost their 'swoosh'. Seems strange without those effects,
