Sky News is having a bit of a bad morning technically, it's been so bad that Chris keeps commenting on it.

Earlier, when they were trying to show the opinion polls, the graphics wouldn't come up, and when they eventually did, they had Labour and the Tories the wrong way round. There's been a few problems with the live link to Nottingham, and just now there was a crash-zoom into Harriet Harman's face in the middle of an interview. Lots of very little, unconnected things all happening at once!

Chris Roberts unusually staying on to present the lunchtime bulletin today

Indeed, it was announced as "Saturday Live with Chris Roberts", usually the 12:00 - 14:00 slot is just referred to as "Sky News" (despite the EPG calling it "Weekend Lunchtime") and the sports presenter is also namechecked. It was probably mentioned in this thread and I've missed it, but what's happened to Lorna Dunkley?

Anyone noticed that the Sky News screen on the Sky News Active 8 screen mosaic now seems to show the Sky News feed without the usual "returns shortly" caption during the adverts?

So far, I have seen the presenter talking (sans sound), the last frame of whatever Sky New promo was played out before the break and the first frame of the pre-recorded sport bulletin.

This reminds me of when the feed on their website during the skynews.com and Jeff Randell Live programmes didn't blank the feed during the adverts. In the case of skynews.com, they would promote this fact and use the break to do a paper review based on the newpaper websites or show a funny/interesting video . During the break between skynews.com and Jeff Randell Live and during Jeff Randell Live itself, you could often see and sometimes hear Jeff Randell talking to the gallery. This time, the feed on Sky Player is showing adverts as per the television version.

It's a bit stupid really they don't show the ads on the mosaic - surely the advertisers aren't going to object.

Could the issue be that small print in adverts would be unreadable?

They do show the adverts on the quarter screen mosaic but not the 8 screen one. Probably due to the small print as m_in_m says. There is also the issue of what adverts would they show? UK or Ireland?

Anyway, Sky News Active is back to normal now. During the breaks they are showing a holding slide again.

Some of Sky's footage from Moscow today coming from Life News which as I think has been pointed out on here before has a familiar looking website...
