I know, I've been thinking how very dated that's getting, and even if they still do want to plug the website at the TOTH, there are many better ways to do so.
It's about time they get a decent opening again, for the last 4 years they've been using those cheep web site plugs with boring music.

I have to agree. The graphics are dated, but I'm sure the main SD channel will update their graphics to fit with the HD graphic set. The music is particularly poor considering we only had the beautiful string beds from 2005 for a couple of years before being replaced by the current versions which were clearly made with a Garageband loop!

I am hoping for a new musical theme, new graphics, new colours, and hopefully a last minute choice to invert the black and white on the logo, so white
sky
logo on black shape. It fits in better with the other logos, and actually looks better!

Martin Stanford's thoughts (via Twitter) on the new graphics when asked if they were nicely done,

Sounds good, its about time they had some really good graphics. The current ones aren't bad but they aren't brilliant either! TV Newsroom, http://twitter.com/TVNewsroom, also on Twitter saying that the likely launch date is April 6th starting with Live at 5.

Adam Boulton currently on a phone-in show on C-Span. Some interesting stuff.

Wonder how they will do it.
The new graphics etc can launch for Live at 5 as they have done in the past. But how will they launch the HD channel? A new channel appears at 5pm on the EPG or a place holder channel appears which then goes live at 5pm?

Very interesting thanks for that. Did he go all the way to Washington just for this or is he covering the Healthcare story this week?
He always seems very at ease and in his element when he does stuff like this in America.

I haven't seen any healthcare reports but I doubt he went over to Washington just for C-Span so close to the election. Perhaps he's also there for some meetings or this is part of a promo tour of sorts for the leaders debates.
