Quite like the logo albeit not a dramatic change.

Does anyone else not think that these ratings are very low? I know that's what they have been like for some time but I wonder do NaT, Live at Five, AL, SNT only get about 70 - 85,000 watching which I find is shocking low. I don't know how sky could get much advertising revenue with these audiences. I know it operates at a loss but with these figures I don't know how they can support so many staff and correspondents across the globe.

They are quite low. We must also remember that Sky News recently reduced all their EPG slots to 30 minutes each in length, whereas before they would cover full programmes. So although numbers appear to be creeping up, it can be a bit deceptive and without more extensive figures it's difficult to judge the scale of the improvement.

Still, don't want to take away from Sunrise's success. It's a great strand and the ratings trend is clearly upward, consistently outrating everything else. That's a big achievement.

I quite like the new logo too, and it looks as if 'NEWS' isn't in Arial, or whatever font it was in before..

Before the split into half hour slots, Live at Five would usually get just over 100,000 on weekdays. I'm guessing it still does but doesn't make it into the top 10 with certain parts of Sunrise doing well. However usually everything else was a five digit audience figure

It must be said however that BARB ratings don't take account for those watching in locations other than at home (eg in the city or in a pub) and neither does it account for international viewers (such as ex-pats) among whom Sky has a large following.

After the UK adverts during CBS News, Sky News somehow played out about 3 or 4 US commercials. The Sky News logo came back after the UK adverts finished.

I was hoping they would use the same kind of glossy effect as the Sky Sports and Movie logos.

Although both for Sky Sports and Sky Movies the logo looked far better on screen than it did when first released, the real issue IMO is that the "sky" logo is one that will never look right boxed.

Hopefully the finished product will have the glossy effect, if I'm not mistaken the first time we saw a still of the new Sky Sports logo it did not have the glossy finish applied. Sky News HD will presumably have a glossier version of the logo as well I would have thought.

I wonder will sky news get a new opener, or just edit the old one

With all the effort they are going to, new graphics, logo etc. I'd be very surprised if there wasn't a new set of TOTH titles.
