Actually it seems to be weekend Sunrise that is rating best at the moment despite all the advertising plugging the weekday version with Eamonn. Ratings for w/e 28th Feb:

The earthquake in Chile was on that day, I believe, so it could have been an indirect result of that.

Also, for what it's worth, I think Mark Longhurst on Sunrise followed by Chris Roberts on Saturday Live is some of the best and most watchable programming currently on Sky News. Both are a vast improvement on Eamonn.

Do we think Sky News HD will launch on the day the election is called (probably April 6th) or could it be in time for the budget on March 24th? I know March 22nd was touted by someone but there has been no more about that.

The budget largely consists of lots of footage from the House of Commons, which is only available in SD - not the best kind of material to launch an HD channel with!

Kelvin was right as usual. Chris and Kelvin don't see eye to eye. I remember on other occasions they have disagreed strongly with one another
