If you go into Add Channels and add 12285V 27.5 2/3 there's a curious channel "Sky News +1" currently carrying National Geographic, but the name is interesting.

Can't see the point of a +1 version of a rolling news channel!

Apparently it's a place holder for Sky News HD until it launches.

That was just a guess on this very forum though, wasn't it?

Why is Sky and other media outlets referring to Gordon Brown's visit to Afghanistan as a "surprise" visit. They are always surprise visits because of security.

Don't know why they would put a place holder for Sky News HD on an SD transponder.

Sky did open a new HD transponder last week. Currently only Penthouse HD is showing up!!

Did Sky News' reporter in Los Angeles just refer to Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (sic) as simply "Inglorious"? What a bizarre case of censorship (on a news channel no less). Confused

Actually, Inglorious was the name it was released under in the UK. The word "Basterds" was censored by the BBFC if memory serves.

Ah, that makes sense. Usually it's the US that seems sensitive about such things, but I gather that "*******" is considered more offensive in the UK? It's not that big of a deal in the US.

EDIT: The fact that the filter edited out the word just answered my question, I suppose!
