Why the changed the Jeff Randall titles to just a slowed arial shot of the building and kept the music so long is beyond me. Marked improvement with a less brash and more of a gradient to make it dark red though.

It's a shame Jeff Randall himself isn't the world's best presenter; you'd think he would be a bit more used to reading an autocue by now.

Out of interest, who hosts the programme when Jeff is unavailable?

Anna Jones normally I think.

I can see the EPG now - 19:00 to 20:45 Leaders Debate 20:45 to 23:00 Breaking News Catch up

Will Sky one simulcast the thing?

Would anyone else like to see Sky launch a new business programme? I'd call it Business First. Presented by Anna Jones Monday to Thursday and Dharshini David on Friday, it would air for half an hour each weekday afternoon from 1630 and feature an in-depth roundup of the big business stories of the day. Also included, a review of the global markets including the FTSE 100 close, and a preview of what's to come in Jeff Randall Live at 1930. The show would be broadcast from the old Jeff Randall Live set, in the same part of the studio which Sunrise comes from. If newswall pieces were required, then Afternoon Live's Samantha Simmonds would stay on to introduce these.

What if a genuine breaking news story occurs while the debate is on, such as a death, arrest etc. Will Sky, and the BBC for their debate, have to not put the strap on until the debate finishes. Or since the breaking news would be unconnected to the debate, would a breaking news strp be OK?

Yeah I think it's only that they can't have a breaking news strap stating what is happening in the debate.

Surely if they were to launch a new business programme they would use their new dedicated business studio in the City?

I feel a 4.30pm slot will turn 'mainstream' viewers away from the channel and they may not come back for Live at Five.

It's a bit like Radio2 putting 'An Organist Entertains' on between Steve Wright and Chris Evans!!

The ticker will show any breaking news on events not related to the debate. No straps at all, as I understand it.

I imagine in very, very extreme circumstances they would temporarily halt the debate for breaking news but that would be very unlikely.

Kay Burley just said the interview with Michael White saw everything go wrong (regarding Michael Foot's death), an animated Michael White knocked over his microphone and the link to the Election Editor from The Times was lost mid-way through! Laughing
