Sunrise showed some video from the awards this morning. Eamonn, Anna, Kay, Jeremy, Dermot and Andrew were all there to collect the award alongside Ryley. No Martin, Colin, Mark or Chris.
Good to see Alex winning again, well deserved that one.
The news channel of the year bumpers are back.
Did Burley run up to collect it as if she'd won the prize?
Watched Jeff Randall last night, have to admit, it's a pretty decent show, shame there isn't a half hour politics version from Westminster! Though, I have hope for the return of The Boulton Factor during Campaign time, but wonder if they may just utilise Jeff more then?
Anyway, the new setting seems great, though the set looks a little small, with a relatively small plasma! I do like the desk, but prefered the Sunrise layout...

What are Sky playing at. At 9am I turned on the TV and saw that BBC News were showing info about the earthquake in Chilie, turned over to Sky News and they had somebody outside Stanford Bridge telling me the odds that John Terry and Wayne Bridge will give each other a Chinese burn, will have a fight or will hake hands.
At 8am it was the top story on Sky News, whereas BBC News had it third down the running order, behind the Conservatives 'unveiling' their election slogan and some nonsense about careers advice at school. Sky were way ahead with it.
The BBC might have been monitoring the USGS' Earthquake EM press feed (which I signed up for after Bali) rather than relying on other sources. The USGS feed usually prompt, has an unexplained delay today, The EM only arrived in my inbox at 0755, over an hour after the quake struck at 0634.

Needless to say I turned back!
News channel of the year.... my arse!
They did have frequent updates on it this morning. Equally you could have turned on Breakfast at some points when they were talking about Mother in Laws - because apparently Cheryl Cole's mother played a big part in the break up of her marriage.
Due to budgeting, it could come down to whether they are expecting a general election call this week, I imagine, and think they can afford it. South American events are always problematic for Sky. I imagine Greg Milam and/or Robert Nisbet might be heading down from Washington for a start, maybe even Ian Woods from Sydney. They may be waiting also to see the extent of tsunamis in the Pacific.
On CNN, Soledad O'Brien was already en route about 2 hours ago so they're probably going to be on top of this one once more.
Soledad now delayed as Santaigo Airport has been declared closed for 72hours. The only way-in is overland. Not sure who is logistically closest for Sky. Probably Greg Milam as mentioned above.
