And Alex Crawford gets Journalist of the Year

Turning out to be a great night for Sky then. Alex is very deserving of this. Apparently they won the innovation award(again) aswell.

They're talking about it on the channel now.

And it's on the Ticker! LOL!

'And we have some Breaking News on Sky News, and it's regarding us!' LOL!

I don't find it funny. I find it hideous that, rather than talking about news, they're displaying a 'Breaking News' ticker about their wins. Sums Sky News up perfectly.

I do remember the BBC News channel doing it last year... although only for 10mins not an hour like Sky have.

Anyhow... the awards awarded to Alex and Stuart both well deserved.

In fact all the awards were well earned for every news outlet.

I don't see anything wrong with a bit of self promotion, it's hardly like there were any other big stories breaking at that time.

Product placement lol.

Lets hope sky can build on this success with HD etc.

Sunrise showed some video from the awards this morning. Eamonn, Anna, Kay, Jeremy, Dermot and Andrew were all there to collect the award alongside Ryley. No Martin, Colin, Mark or Chris.

Good to see Alex winning again, well deserved that one.

The news channel of the year bumpers are back.

I was surprised that Martin wasn't there this year- in previous years I'm sure he was one of those who always attended?

Is Martin Stanford still one of Sky's "top presenters" though? It's a real shame he only does a half hour show, he's one of the better presenters. It might be better if he did the 7pm - 10pm slot, including the business programme with Jeff Randall within that, alongside the current skynews.com features as well. That said, he might have other commitments and may not want to work a full news shift.

I can't believe that Fox correspondent came on air to talk about the Whale incident.....

'The name of the whale, which was urrrm - I can't remember (looks at his phone) - but anyway'.
