I like the ''in your face'' 20 years sting, it's not a small thing, they are the first uk news channel. BTW, are they having any special show today about the celebration???

One thing I said yesterday about the island is that the elbow/desk is strangely positioned. It's even harder now for anchors who have to stand there and have nothing to lean on plus they have that PC tablet in their hands. Shocked Shocked

I don't think Sasha Twining's gonna be a star on Sky News, she's very ordinary to me.

I have to say I'm amazed at how good this new look is. After more than a year of the channel looking pretty much the same all day, I honestly thought that was what they were trying to achieve nowadays.

I think everything just works brilliantly - the fresh, clean colour scheme, the way it's all laid out, and the great camera angles. It's better than 2005 in my opinion.

I especially love Sunrise's new look - it feels like they've really designed the set around the needs of the programme, rather than just squeezing some chairs into a random space. My only (minor) criticism is that I'd prefer a slightly more 'morning' colour scheme - even if it's just on the plasma.

I love the newsroom backdrop behind Dermoth, especially those 3 screens with skynews.com.

Now I just wish Sky would have at least one slot with 2 anchors, it would provide more great camera shots. I wish they would put someone next to Dermoth or scrap that terrible 15 minutes slot and just have 2 anchors till Sky News at ten.

So is there no on-screen graphic or music changes or tweeks at all then?

More nice shots of the set.

Thanks for all the caps ginnyfan but could you upload somewhere else? Its a real hassle trying to view them! and the contrast on the caps seem a bit too much! Thanks though lol

Oh no Crying or Very sad
Kay is sat behind that old circle Sunrise desk, I hope she stands up sometime soon, the shots look so weird because of her being sat so low.

Edit: Shes stood up now but the whole area looks too crowded with the glass table, laptop, wires, papers and the tablet PC.

I see from the webcam that the original 2005 globe background with 2007 stacked logo is still around, seen in the reflection of the glass here:

The new look is great and gives the channel a new wave of originality and freshness.

Let's just hope that the dedicated positions and cameras are stuck to this time round, and we don't just end up with every segment coming from the prsenter plonked behind the desk.

Second day in a row that Kay has called 'Afternoon Live' 'Live at Five' during the TOTH!

On a presentation note, their newswall graphic for the snowy weather is stunning, overlaying effects and images on the generic background.
