Tuesday night figures are down across the board and after 8pm, apart from Holby City even BBC1 and ITV1 are lucky to break 3m, and rarely pass 4m.
Sky News closed down for the day again today. What gives Lord Chilcott the authority to rule over an elected prime minister?
I think Tuesday could be the best night still. It's always going to be a compromise, but Champions League football on Sky doesn't seem to affect audience's on BBC/ITV that much. Having a debate scheduled against Eastenders or Coronation Street would probably affecting viewing figures more than football on Sky IMO

Why does Burley get all the OB's these days? You never really see Dermot out and about.
Not really sure it's a concerted decision, apart from the fact that lots of stories seem to be developing during Afternoon Live and therefore she has to go where she's told. Also, it could be a matter of preference of the presenter themselves.
Was Dermot at the inquiry this morning or has Kay been there all day?
Guess there could be some live presentation from Westminster tomorrow then. Burley being given mugs of coffee again. That sort of thing.

I think even the most neutral of observer would say that Tony Blair had the upper hand so far. I'm not sure she is suggesting she is happy with the outcome.

Glad to see Kay Burley is keeping her opinions to herself saying,
"Tony Blair 1 The Panel 0"
Looks like Sky have a jib camera down outside the conference centre.

Interesting stuff, when does Sky News HD actually launch? Spring could mean anything from March until June. I'd guess they'd have some output ready for the Election in May, but I'm hoping it would launch before then to iron out any glitches etc?

SkyNews team all watching promo for the new #SkyNews HD channel. Very impressive stuff.

Doesn't BBC2, C4 and Five have 'stronger' content on Tuesday's however. Take Tuesday this week BBC2 had 3.1 million at 9pm, Five 2.4 million and C4 almost 3 million (OK, this was CBB which ends tonight). Earlier BBC2 had 3.3 million for the Hairy Bikers and BBC3 had an decent 0.87 million at 8pm. So is the audience just split over more channels on a Tuesday?

Linking this back to the election debate, Sky had a Premier League football match on Tuesday night - while hardly as high profile as a Champions League game, it doesn't seem to have impacted audiences elsewhere too much compared to other Tuesdays (the ITV1/BBC1 figures were around the same as the normal figures you quoted). I'm really not sure what the concern over clashing with football on Sky is about, though as I posted earlier if ITV1 moved Corronation Street, 8.30 on a Monday could be a good slot

I asked her, but she didn't commit on any dates. Just said "sooner rather than later". I am making the assumption it cant be far away if the promos are done.
Now they pretty much know the date of the election, they will probably launch and get it bedded in well before the election kicks in.

I wonder if Sky News HD will be FTA like Sky News is. I think the chances are that it won't be but I'm surprised that Sky News is still FTA to be honest, so anything is possible.
Now that Sky have launched their new HD box, it looks like you can get hold of one of the older models for £49 without paying £10 a month for the HD package. If Sky News HD is FTA, this would be a good way to cheaply get three (Sky News, BBC and Luxe) HD channels.
