I presume from the various programme logos that Sky News itself will soon (tomorrow?) be using the new blocky logo?

If so, why didn't they launch it all in one?

Impressed with the new set.

The new set/studio/newsroom is quite spectacular.

Interesting shots continue to come on Live at Five!

The desk actually looked quite well in some of the shots during the sport(you could see Eamonn's sofa on one of them)...perhaps it is a grower.

Like the seat on it's side right of Jeremy in this shot.

BTW I think there was a red and white 'breaking news' sting during Live at Five tonight - not sure if this has been mentioned before?

I wonder if the Sunrise set will be used for Sky News Tonight, as the paper reviewers would have more room on that sofa than around the news desk? I would also have thought the giant telly could show the front pages while they were dissecting them?

I also have just seen an arm - perhaps the sports round up will come from the new newsdesk?

All in all, it is a great change to the current look - although I am not so excited about the Afternoon Live or the NSW set up. I would say that the Sky News.com set up is dire considering all these sets they now have to use.

Is that a permanent thing for skynews.com to come from Studio B, then? The background behind Martin is like the balcony position but with the new set. If it does stay there then I'd hope they make a bit more of a virtual set of it (which'd suit the programme and Martin's presenting style) rather than just a locked-off camera and that background.

Very good idea. Hopefully that'll be the case as that would work very well.

Steve Dixon should be doing it tonight according to his Twitter, not sure where Anna Botting is. (maybe doing some stuff for 20 years of Sky News tomorrow?)

Also Saturday Live - how will that work now? For the Saturday Sport segment there is often 2 studio guests + Nick + Chris in the studio.

One bad thing about the new desk; looks like they are serious about news anchors flying solo from now on.

Lol - well she did do four days last week - I think - so I suppose that is something! Anna B is my favourite presenter on Sky News - I hope she will not be all over the joint in this new era of Sky News!!

Yeah I think you are right here LTR - seems this is the direction Ryley wants to move in. You can see from the EPGs we are meant to link timeslots with specific presenters - as in 'Live at Five with Jeremy Thompson' although it actually makes my first point more profound - 'Sky News at Ten with Anna Botting' whereas it should be 'Sky News at Ten with everyone and their auntie'.

To be fair I think since the New Year Sky News at 10 has only had three presenters - Anna Botting and Steve Dixon, plus Samantha Simmonds as relief. And I think Anna Botting has only done another programme twice (Afternoon Live a Monday when Lorna was off and Sky News Today a Friday a couple of weeks ago)

In terms of consistency, apart from NSW, Live at 5 seems to be the worst currently with 4 regular presenters - JT and Andrew Wilson as allocated presenters then Colin Brazier and Chris Roberts as regular reliefs

Fair cop Excel 99 - I do take your point about Live at Five. Cool
It is a shame she will not be on tonight with the launch of the new sets etc. I do like Steve and Samantha though - both are really good presenters.

Im surprised too. I would have though Sky would want their regular line up on today, and this week in general. Though maybe its something unavoidable thats meant she's had to take time of this week

No more close ups of Kay Burley, that's made me happy.
