looks like the desk might of got stuck changing from the sunday live position to the lunchtime bulletin. The desk is in the same position with the newswall backdrop, but with strange camera angles been used to make it look like the newsroom backdrop.

It would appear Kay Burley has been given a new 5 year contract.

5 years? I doubt Sky would agree to that length.

I wonder will Burley be sent to a swing seat again for the election next year.

Don't want to sound pedantic but we call them marginals in this country. Wink

Why not? Probably the only one at the station who jumps at the opportunity to read the news on Christmas Morning. Plus it looks good to be a station with a mainstream older female presenter in the wake of forcing older female presenters off the screen in favour of men as has been the case on the BBC.

Actually, Henry, we do refer to them as swing seats in this country. The term is used interchangeably with 'marginal' and has been since psephology became a recognised field of social scientific study in 1952. It is, after all, the reason that we refer to the swingometer on election night.

Couldn't have said it better myself, thanks.

I find the presenting on Xmas morning to be a bit silly.

I suppose it was inevitable but they've just aired a new advert,

What can't Jedward believe?

Followed by footage from the interview they gave the other night about how amazing it was to be on Sky News... Rolling Eyes

She didn't do it last year. Can't remember who did now, but it wasn't Kay that's for sure. I know she normally does, but stopped last year.

Yes she definitely did do it. I remember watching it with the christmas background on the newswall. I also remember last christmas there was an article somewhere about her long tradition of doing it (think it was around 15? years in a row). Does anyone know why she presents christmas morning?

she volunteers to do it, she says she 'enjoys present the news' on an important day in the year
