Sky News just ran out of news, or at least their ticket did. The last story scrolled off and another one didn't appear. They have gone to adverts now, so I am sure it will be fixed when they come back.

That happens now and again. They can normally fix it without removing it.

Will Sky News be getting new on-screen graphics after the HD upgrade? Because boy - do they need them!

I actually think Sky News' current graphics are the best they've been in a long time, and do the job pretty well. When you consider what they've had in the past (the spinning Fox News style cube), I'd be happy for them to leave them as they are.

Well, given some of the things I've heard from people who watched the 45-minute presentation Sky News staff were given on the HD service last week, things like "ground-breaking", "incredibly slick", "very stylish", I get the idea that it'll be more than just better picture quality.

There's also the odd occasion when you can tell it's been updated as the ticker just gets wiped.
I have seen it spectacularly on air on at least one occasion. Ticker fell over and took the clock and logo with it.

I don't think it was that bad - just makes the screen look weird for a few seconds. The ticker is pointless anyway - but once you have it up, I suppose it's difficult to get rid of it (Sky only have themselves to blame).
