I saw Sky News had on their breaking ticker for a good two hours that Kerry Katona has been arrested for assault. Anything passes for news on that station sometimes.
My first Live at Five last night for a very, very long time. JT had Brian Dowling in the studio live, discussing the demise of Big Brother. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Brian to slip-up and say something naughty or sweary accidentally. However, he got through it quite well in the end.
JT seems to be kinda "slowing down" generally since the last time I saw him and his delivery is not quite as precise as I recall it. However, it brings him an incredible air of "supreme anchorman" status, in a Cronkite/Burnet/Jennings kinda way. I feel it would be nice to pair him and Anna Botting back together as presenters though.

Why would Brian Dowling swear? He's on live radio and television so much, I would think he's well trusted.
Is he? I had no idea he was on tv so much. Last time I saw him on anything, he did accidentally swear. However, he came across as quite polished last night on LAF.

Are you thinking of the Les Bean incident on Family Fortunes? That wasn't a swear lol.
Kay Burley once again showing why she's the world expert on all matters football:
Indignantly, looking at the camera and pointing with her pen : "I want to know why that fixture (West Ham v Millwall) was held MID-WEEK in AUGUST!! The FA have some questions to ANSWER!!"
Erm... sorry to break this to you Kay, but the fixture was held mid-week because it's the Carling Cup. Just like the Champions' League, its fixtures are ALWAYS held mid-week, apart from the final, so that it can fit into the overcrowded football season. Also, fixtures like that are held mid-week so that your company, Sky, can televise the matches for their viewing audience! Also the fixture was the result of a random draw (also televised on Sky) so fixture planners at the FA can't be blamed.
This was a one-off act of hooliganism not seen for years which was, to all football-minded people, entirely predictable when these two teams meet. For Kay to open her mouth and come out with these kinds of sweeping ignorant statements is pure stupdity. Thank god most people are in work and don't have to hear her.
Just following on from that today she had to ask the sports presenter what type of court was being used in the US tennis masters...
Anybody notice the briefly displayed graphics on the Sky report about the murdered girl and her stepfather?
It appeared as the studio linked to the female reporter in Warmington at 4.30pm ish; for a few seconds the red banner briefly said 'This is not a dummy report' before quickly being replaced by ' Truck Murder' I think.
Anybody know how would this mistake have been made?
Not seen this video before of the 2005 Sky News Today. Although there is good banter, especially with Mark having a good laugh, it really is all quite cheesy.

Whilst the threesome meant the banter was too much (and wasn't Ginny just the most wooden presenter ever?), I do think there is a place for some of it on a rolling news channel. Shows that the likes of Mark and Steve have personalities as well
