While obviously a big story I don't quite see why it merits breaking the current policy of single headed presentation.

Would you rather royal correspondent Sarah Hughes attempted to front the coverage single-handedly?

I see your point but Steve also co-presented with Samantha earlier who is a pretty experienced presenter.

That aside they are doing a pretty impressive job this afternoon.

I'm so used them doing it Single Headed, which I really like the idea of now, it seems strange to do it double headed, it looking odd after all the single headed-ness.

That would be no different to when Matt Smith covered the terrorist raids earlier in the year on his own for an hour, and did a very good job

But whatever the rights and wrongs of going double headed, very good coverage this afternoon

Just to update this, after 3pm from what little I saw, the coverage did go single headed with just Sarah Hughes

Tuesday to Thursday there was no summary (on Sky News Today/Afternoon Live anyway). The main presenter read the headlines

I now have permanent access to Sky News again and watching it today for the first time in a very long time. Does anyone think that today's newscaster (Jayne Secker) is similar to a younger Katie Derham when Katie started out as a newsreader? Jayne's lip movements are remarkably similar to Katie's.

But I have to say, this fifteen minutes stuff every fifteen minutes is a bit naff! Now I can see what you were all banging on about.

Although it's Sky News that is actually broadcast, the local service provider here actually brands it as Fox News Europe for some reason, but does manage to include full and proper titles in the programme guide: "Sky News Weekend Sunrise with Mark Longhurst".

Kay Burley once again showing why she's the world expert on all matters football:

Indignantly, looking at the camera and pointing with her pen : "I want to know why that fixture (West Ham v Millwall) was held MID-WEEK in AUGUST!! The FA have some questions to ANSWER!!"

Erm... sorry to break this to you Kay, but the fixture was held mid-week because it's the Carling Cup. Just like the Champions' League, its fixtures are ALWAYS held mid-week, apart from the final, so that it can fit into the overcrowded football season. Also, fixtures like that are held mid-week so that your company, Sky, can televise the matches for their viewing audience! Also the fixture was the result of a random draw (also televised on Sky) so fixture planners at the FA can't be blamed.

This was a one-off act of hooliganism not seen for years which was, to all football-minded people, entirely predictable when these two teams meet. For Kay to open her mouth and come out with these kinds of sweeping ignorant statements is pure stupdity. Thank god most people are in work and don't have to hear her.
