Nice surprise to see Emma Crosby this morning. Back to main presenter too, rather than the business news. I thought she would have packed up and left by now.

I will miss her.

Yep. She's a good 'un. Pity she's leaving actually.

She's due to start GMTV on Jan 5th apparently, so unless Sky are still serious about holding her to her contract, today could well be her last stint on Sky News.

Hasn't Matt Smith left? I thought he'd been replaced by that younger looking bloke (name escapes me).

EDIT: His name's Steve Hargrave.

Just wondering because Matt Smith seems to have a programme every weeknight.

I can't really see this schedule being correct - Sky like their news every minutes too much. (Cheap TV)

Also I think Sarah-Jane Mee is leaving to join BBC Sport soon anyway, well thats according to a BBC Sport worker on DS, who says she has signed up. Here is the post to prove it.

I do quite like that schedule. Anything to get rid of the 15 mins slots, and I've always thought there was room for a lighter, showbiz-led programme in the evenings. Was wondering how, if ever they did this sort of schedule in the evenings, they could stretch those three programmes out for an hour each night, but then if they had about 15 mins of news at the top of each hour with someone at the newswall, it could work quite well.

But anyway, the only place it appears to be is Wikipedia, and we all know how much to trust that, and the usual schedule is on the Sky Programme Information site (although this has Jeff Randall only on Mondays in Janurary, as it was before, which I'm pretty sure isn't right?).

EDIT: The original press release for Jeff Randall going 4 days a week suggests it'll be the same as the Monday night schedule.
Quote:
Jeff, who currently presents Jeff Randall Live, every Monday evening on Sky News, will, from January 2009, present a 7.30pm live half hour business news show four days a week on the channel, Monday -Thursday.

I dunno about this schedule but as I mentioned on here a while back,I had been told there would be "lots of change" schedule wise in the new year.

Sasha back again now. My guess would be Sky had lined up a high profile interview that they deemed Anna would be better at handling but in the end it didn't materialise for whatever reason.

Fair point, you might be right.

But for me this week as just shown how far Sky has fallen, topped off by having top presenters like Dermot and Anna doing 15 minute news wraps. What next JT on the 15 min stuff??

yeah, Live at Five is being replaced by, Live at 5 Every 5. One report and sports headlines!

I wouldn't put it past them!!

As for this "new schedule" on wikipedia, it seems stupid to have 1 hour of business, 1 hour of online and 1 hour of showbiz, EVERYNIGHT - that's a bit over the top!!

Maybe they could rotate, i.e. business on Monday and Wednesday, online Tuesday and Thursday and showbiz Friday. I am liking the fact that Anna Jones would be involved in a more high profile slot.

I like the ideas of it, and the welcome return on "News on the Hour"!

Sky Newsroom sounds a better idea than Sky Today, hope it means it in its name, and doesn't mean normal Sky News from the desk. Sky News Centre would sound better.

Live Desk sounds good with 2 presenters, maybe they could be sat at the desk, with the desk continually spinning around?

Live from Five or Live at Five?

That schedule sounds so much better, even with a couple of double headed programmes. Might be better than going double all day.

Weekends sound very Fox, with Sky News Saturday and Sky News Sunday, although very much better than Saturday Live and Sunday Live.

Weekend Lunchtime is a stupid name aswell.

Evening programmes have much better names aswell as Online with and Sky News Tonight, replacing this Sky News a 7 and Sky News at Ten buisness.

No in 15mins, every 15mins?! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Oh, and please but Anna B back with JT on Live on Five or whatever its going to be called!

The only other thing would be to rename Kay's programme, like Burley's News Day or Kay's on the Case or even Sky News with Kay Burley. Laughing
