I have to agree with Martin, Sky News has become pathetic to be honest

Arrow The last graphic relaunch, last year was clearly a fox news/ bbc news 24 rip off.

Arrow The colour scheme is another copy.... sorry but when I see red, black and white.... I think BBC News.... not Sky.... - What happend to the dominant Red & Blue from 05????

Arrow This "refresh" is Sky's attempt at a CNNi look recreated with Powerpoint 07 Animations...

Its as if Sky is desperate... this look is revolting it looks like an EPG... bad move Sky News

Sky News and BBC News 24 will always be different lets face it - they are two different organisations.

It seems that it's BBC News 24 thats stuck in a time warp with a 1950's news policy to running a news channel - not Sky News.

I compare them to two things. BBC News is the old Bentley of cars compared to the Sky News modern TVR style.

Yeah i see your point! TVR in administration and Bentley making record profits! Works well when you think about the viewing figures... Wink

We need to admit one thing... Sky News is a shadow of it's former self, the BBC has got it's act together and Sky can no longer catch up. Roll on BBC News rebrand!

Erm, sky's viewing figures have remained static... Wink

So did TVR's sales before management pulled the plug (the Freeview plug that is)... Smile

...I think this motoring analogy is going a bit far but hey it's good fun.

Hmm, some good ideas, but very poorly executed in my opinion. The illusion of more space seems to be cancelled out by the rather chunky and clunky looking "glass effect" buttons and logos. The logo in the top-left corner and the live locator look dreadful.

You say this in jest, but I know of one flagship current affairs programme which uses Powerpoint for it's lower thirds...

Static, are you sure. Well looking at BARB they have fluctuated a lot over the last month, from a share of 0.7 to 0.4.

I think this would be a much better logo, despite it being a little rough...

It's a shame that the "sky" logo has never really been used on the channels - I think skyARTS is the only one that uses it on TV - and it looks pretty good.

Must say the BREAKING NEWS ticker is nowhere near as effective now as it was before when it was the full width, and also reached the bottom too.

Perhaps they could ditch the clock and do what Sky Sports News do and rotate the logo for the time / date instead.

Only thing is though, if the ticker was full width the astons would have nothing to align with.

I've always assumed the data gathered about news channels' share generally sit within a margin of error to the extent that ratings are a near-irrelevant measure of the short-term successes of branding, format changes etc. but rather can show more general trends over years.

No, sorry, that's vile.

Is anyone else indifferent about the graphic changes? They seem to change them every year now. If you don't like this one, you haven't got long for a new one.

But does look kind of cheap for me.
