Quite a funny cock up on the weather during Afternoon Live. Came back from the break, straight into weather, but Isobel Lang's pre-recorded forecast was soon replaced by shots of people walking into a job centre. Well recovered by Anna Jones though.
Is the weather only live during Sunrise and in the evening? I know it's live during SkyNews.com at 7, because as Martin is about to hand over to the weather, you normally see the forecaster in question waiting by the wall down below.

Not sure if it's just the way they present Afternoon Live usually, but the shots seem very close today and I haven't seen the desk in shot anywhere. The TOTH was only a close-up zoom. They're presenting from the little bit in front of the newswall (the elbow?).

I would imagine that all the work will be completed in time for the inauguration of Obama.

looks like Francis was waiting for him to be onscreen before taking his jacket off at 7pm in the balcony shot.
when's the next work commencing?
strange rushing to remove the computers then a gap before the next work starts.

so it looks like they could have left the computers there for now, instead of the centre looking like a ghost town...
all it seems now is just a huge space with a desk in it. people and desks are too spaced out and hidden behind neon lights.
i wish they used the globe background more.. very nice, and it has people and desks behind!

The IT team might have wanted to shift the computers to their new locations (whereever they may be) in time for the christmas break, so that they can get the terminals running properly, and so that they wouldn't have to do it in a rush after Christmas.
You know, there's more to a news channel than just journos, presenters and a studio. If they're making changes to the layout of the studio, then they'll have a schedule, and each department will be working to that.
