Good coverage from Sky News today on this gun battle. BBC way behind.

Fantastic line of questioning from Andrew Wilson a bit earlier:

"Alex, as we speculated, it's getting dark now isn't it?"

Aw maybe he lost his train of thought. He was talking to her for hours! Chris Roberts on now apologising for any question he asks. He says I do apologise for asking this... all the time.

IMHO Sky really outshone the Beeb today, by quite a margin.

I'd agree with you there, Sky's coverage today has been excellent.

Agreed - Sky's coverage was first class today. Couldn't stop watching when it appeared the media were under fire - looked very scary but Alex seemed so calm.

It's times like this when you realise Sky News is still an astounding news channel. I have to say, the coverage was very good today, I'm glad they spent most of their time on that story, you've always got Active for the other news. I was shocked at the BBC NC's coverage this afternoon, just 5 minutes after 4pm they were talking about the Conservatives.

Indeed, can't fault Alex Crawfords coverage and clear bravery regarding the gun shots aimed at journalists.

Good as they are, they were reporting that the sieges were over on Thursday evening.

Steve Dixon remained on air until 2am. Marverine Cole has now taken over to continue the coverage overnight.
