Sky clearly leading the way with the news from Mumbai- eyewitnesses on the line etc, whereas the BBC are talking about Woolworths

I think the closure of Woolworths would probably be more on people's minds at the minute though than what's happening in Mumbai.

Yes but that situation isn't changing much. Most news channels leading with the major events in India.

So surely it's good that we've got choice between the two! If Sky and the BBC had identical stories, news items and agendas what would be the point of having both?

(edit was rewording it - made very little sense Confused)

Yeah the involvement of westerners has changed the story somewhat. Sky taking ads, the BBC a bit behind.

As always, they don't give a **** if it's just some foreign folk involved - but throw in a couple of Americans and a Brit or two and it's upped to international disaster!

I don't think they have anyone yet. Perhaps sending people out from London.

From what I've seen of Sky News and the BBC News channel both last night and today, I can say that I think Sky News's coverage and overall reporting of the Mumbai terror attacks has been better.

They have plenty of witnesses and experts on the line, and as well this they are dipping into Indian television for the latest reports from the scene.

The BBC are nevertheless reporting the story well, now with a reporter live in Mumbai, but I feel that the repetition of reports on the channel seems a bit monotonous.

They've had a reporter in Mumbai pretty much all along - there was someone there for the Ten last night.
