That's scary. Sad Shocked

The comments are the scary part of that page. All he did was cycle to Sky News to get a video tape of an interview he did (obvious to us that it was the wrong way to go about things but I guess he didn't know). He may have also downloaded photos of Kay Burley (something everyone who has followed the above link to the Daily Mail is equally as guilty of) but as that part of the article was attributed to 'a friend' (tabloid slang for 'we made this bit up') its probably not true anyway.

It might be like that but he's got a history of stalking and it's better to be careful and not regret later when something terrible happens.

Fair point, but the Daily Mail isn't exactly a reliable source. I'd argue even the date on the front page should be treated with a degree of scepticism.

The story is also being reported by the BBC now:

TV Presenter in Harassment Claim

I know this a nasty thing to say, but this kind of smacks of "we can get some publicity out of this". I'm sure Kay has concerns over her safety else she wouldn't have made the allegation. But if it hadn't have been Barry George would it even 'matter'?

OK if it said she had been approached twenty times or something then I'd be a little more sympathetic. As Spencer pointed at - the story at this stage is a man with a very public past went to collect a tape of his interview. Perhaps not the best way to go about things but that's the way it is right now.

Barry George doesn't do himself any favours when he turns up out of the blue at Sky Centre of all places. Downloading pictures of Kay Burley isn't a problem, more rather people, not just Barry George, are a danger to themselves when they end up mixing imagination and reality.

Such as for example if you decide to have a sexual relation with Kay Burley in your head, its fine, as long as it stays in your head. Its when you try to make it a reality that it becomes a major problem. It's claimed Barry George has mental issues, in fact the press claimed he was obsessive, a recluse and a danger to women during his re-trial.

Without meaning to take this off topic, we shall see how this develops, realistically the guy probably doesn't know any better to be fair, but I mean we've seen with Terry Lubbock, constantly chasing after somebody you blame for the outcome of an event doesn't mean you'll get what you want, it can quite often make things worse. Lubbock's behaviour, constantly following Michael Barrymore around, is understandable but ultimately also obsessive and potentially petty. I mean Barrymore could easily turn round and claim harassment, I would have thought.

Getting really sick of the fake newsroom background and the close up face shots of the presenter.

And maybe its just me but today its looked like a green screen,I know its not but its just such a waste when you have this brilliant piece of technology and all you do is try and hide it.

I noticed that today the whole screen looks a heck of a lot brighter than usual

The newswall is getting used a bit more these days for the financial updates but, like many, I wish the presenters would move around the newsroom more. Makes it more exciting to watch, the Live Desk is the closest thing to Sky News of old.
