Nice to see Dermot doing Live At 5 for a change,I think im right in saying it is his first time presenting the show.
On another note,as posted by Blake Connolly in another thread,here is Sky's rather extensive line-up for the US Presidential Elections;
Jeremy Thompson - New York
Andrew Wilson - Florida
Dermot Murnaghan - Chicago
Anna Botting - San Francisco
Michelle Clifford - Chicago (Obama HQ)
Robert Nisbet - Phoenix, Arizona (McCain HQ)
This in addition to Sunday Live and Jeff Randall Live coming from the states.

Weird seeing Sarah Hughes behind the news desk for the summaries on Afternoon Live today. Colin let off early it seems unless he's coming back for Live at Five.
The coverage of Brown's speech has been okay. Unplugged was a bit flat though.

Strange goings on the last 2 days - both yesterday and today Colin has done The Live Desk then disappeared leaving Sarah Hughes to do headlines on AL.
But good to see Dermot on Live at 5

Perhaps the rumours that Burley and Brazier don't hit it off very well are true. I always get the impression that Brazier feels he's too good to just be doing news summaries anyway and so he deliberately puts very little effort in on AL. Although maybe that's just me reading too much into things.

Been looking back at the 2006 relaunch again. I do miss those graphics, makes the current set of on screen graphics look appalling. Its a shame they cant just 'tweak' the 2005 ones and bring them up to date.
I also rather miss that TOTH, although it did date rather easily atleast it was more exciting than the current crap.

Sorry, but what exactly is the point of statements like these? Oooh it's not like it was I was a lad eh? Jumpers for goalposts? Why do so many people live in the past? Everyone has an opinion on whether a previous brand is better than a current one, in all areas of presentation, and it's right to debate the merits of each, but to suggest we should revisit old styles entirely misses the point. How would anyone move forward if theyy just kept reinventing the same old. It's essential to try new or different approaches, even when they fail.
