Wonder if they were caught on the hop in Newsgathering terms... It is very easy to lead on something on a website with a still and some text. Much more difficult to lead on it in TV terms if you have no moving pictures or live reporters/trucks on-site.
(Whilst overseas stories can be covered with agency pictures - domestic stuff usually can't...)
I think you are right. They had very little until Sunday and then seemed to focus on what had happened during the previous 48 hours. When the floods happended last year they had live pictures of helicopters winching people from their houses, this year they had to rely on viewer footage.

Why did Sky News take so long to realise that the UK weather was a big story....It was top story on N24 long before Sky?
Strangely it was top story on the Sky News website though.....

Firefox 3 has been out for three months now, and your site still doesn't work in it. Mind fixing it?
Anyone would think he had a life away from a website. How inconsiderate that he hasn't fixed it, it's unimaginable rudeness and the lack of service concerns me.

Well I was under the impression that the site had closed until I read the above and that it was a problem with Firefox 3. Tried it in IE7 and also Google Chrome and now I can visit it again, although not as often as I might if it worked in my main browser tbh.

Well he seems smug when talking about Andy Murray - he has exceeded expectations anyway and while Murray was out of line slagging off England's football team - he has grown up since then. Someone should play with Desborough with a tennis racket and that may take that smirk off his dish!!
I have to say that I am impressed with the new show and schedule on Sky News. While I still think the evening could be far better - it is a baby step in the right direction. I still do not know why The Sky Report was axed. The Midnight News is a uniqe option and I aint sure how this will pan out - but it is worth a shot. Why can SkyNews.Com not last for one hour though?

The Midnight News was interesting. I noticed Anna Botting read out the sport around 12:25 instead of a dedicated sports presenter (usually just a pre-record of the sports bulletin an hour earlier which is repeated several times overnight) then Jason De La Pena took over from 12:30 and again read out the sports news himself later in the programme.
They may have just done this because Charlie's sports bulletin at 11:20 would already have been out of date, what with Murray's defeat.

I think someone mentioned it before, but I must say the business update on the Live Desk is brilliant. With Emma at the wall and today they joined the Fox Business Network in New York, who even had a Sky News logo on the plasma in the studio. Really good stuff. Dare I say that they are perhaps finally heading in the right direction!
Still too many ads though!

It really is like the Sky News Today of old,I love the way people walk right behind Colin,it really is in the heart of the newsroom. JT was standing behind Colin and walked past him towards the end of the show today.
