So Sky are letting some young people loose on a programme?
Words fail me - I remember when this used to be a respected news channel - now the work experience kids will be controlling the output!
A couple of points from watching Sky News yesterday.
First, the interview with Gordon Brown seemed to be more about Kay Burley than Mr. Brown. Second, I thought that Kay Burley didn't capture the mood by asking about David Milliband et al. Third, Sky News has begun to keep the breaking news strap up for much longer over the past couple of weeks. Some stories staying on the yellow bar thing for hours. Yesterday's most prolific breaking news item was "Gordon Brown wants a UK football team for London in 2012." Must be the most silliest piece of breaking news of the whole year.
Fourth and I've noticed this already and it's about the US election. Any of the contributors to Sky seem to be very biased and most biased in favour of Barack Obama. In particular it is obvious that their specialised election contributor (Christain Jua something) is an Obama supporter. Not saying I don't support Obama, but it would be nice to have a bit of balance.

Could not agree more about John Christopher Bua,the US analyst,he is very pro-Obama and is not only anti-McCain but was anti-Hilary during the primaries. I dont mind him being on but as you say there should be a balance.
Wow - twice in one week! I again managed to tune into Sky News today, and for reasons unknown, it again was like watching an entirely different channel. But this time, in a positive manner.
Firstly, Sky News Sunrise, with Kay Burley and Jeremy Thompson in Beijing and Denver respectively. This is the sort of thing that the "old" Sky News would do very well, having their top anchors on the spot where the action is, and interacting well with each other and their respective guests. There was NO clutter on the screen, no over-use of whooshes and zooches. There was some engaging interviews with various Sky correspondents and it was all very watchable. Helen Fospero held together the London end of things and Jackie Beltrao (sp?) was in the USA for the sport.
All in all, it was like the Sky News of old and it was a pleasure to watch.
Being a Bank Holiday, Helen stayed on until mid morning before handing over to yet another instantly recognisable Sky face - Lorna Dunkley, who admittedly was joined by someone called Maravine (?) for the news headlines.

If Obama was ahead in the polls, it might have been understandable - report with the majority, sort of thing. However, considering he is five points behind, this is not the case - and it is evident Sky News are starting to become an imbalanced news source.
And I am pretty sure also that is has nothing to do with News International's (or Rupert Murdoch's) political stance...
