Markets graphic looks well.

It really does put BBC News 24 to shame now!

BBC News 24 looks so stale now.

One thing I hope they do is make the Sky News DOG smaller or incorporate it into the ticker (before the clock). That would look really good.

It wouldn't be 4:3 safe then.

They could just shift the clock along and put it before the clock?

yes, and in a couple of weeks someone else will post in the BBC News post about how their relaunch makes Sky look really stale, dull, blah blah, blah....

And so the cycle of life continues.

Maybe Clapham and the Colonel should meet for a beer sometime after the 21st and try and break this cycle so that neither Sky or BBC relaunch within, say, six months of each other...

But at least the tower is free to make a comeback ; )

ps: Col Mustard, did you mean Elvis has left the building or El Viz has left the building?

Very true, when i saw it this morning i immediately thought of the CNNI less clutter ideology.

Yes, it is a very similar to CNNi's. 'Less clutter' is a good thing, but personally I've never been keen on the idea of having graphics just hanging there in the middle of the screen not attached to anything. Just think it looks odd.

Some interesting views from you lot. I have to say, I really do like the graphics, however the pointless animation's are just stupid. I don't like the presenter name strap, only because of the "sky.com/news" above it.
Everything else is fantastic though, much better in terms of space and colours. It's no longer a mish mash of 2005-2007 graphics and 2007- graphics. There's new sports and business graphics, which are very nice, and a new TOTH which I actually like.

No sign of "First for Breaking News" though. Shame that the breaking news strap is like the normal news straps.

I would love to know what people at CNNI think of them though, being so similar Laughing

Another victory for the BSkyB design team.

"Champs League" ?

Awful awful awful. It looks like something you'd get on Richard and Judy not a news channel. I'm sure I'll get used to it but I rarely tune into Sky News these days anyway but I just think it's such a backwards step. They had a chance to build something good but have decided to really go in and make it look like a tatty version of CNN.

There a lot better before, I think people are forgetting that.
